About the National Association of Mortgage Victims

The National Association of Mortgage Victims is primarily a campaigning organisation who endeavour to redress the balance for anguished borrowers suffering at the hands of their mortgage lender or secured loan provider.

NAMV currently runs from two separate officeslinked by telephone, fax and email facilities. Cases are allocated to one of our caseworkers for assessment depending on their type and the caseworkers expertise.

In some cases it is necessary to transfer cases to specialist solicitors for further work although litigation is always a last resort.

NAMV receive requests for assistance directly from members of the public as well as taking referrals from other sources such as Citizens Advice Bureaux, Advice Centres and the County Courts and Solicitors in all parts of the country.

The service is 'not for profit' but that does not mean it is a free service. We accept donations of a fixed amount to cover the initial costs of setting up a case file and to assess presenting cases. We also have an agreement with our clients that they pay a percentage of any monetary sum awarded at the end of their case. Not all cases end in monetary gain, but we do not discriminate against those clients by refusing to assist them, the level of commitment is the same. Each case is dealt with individually.

Because we are not a charity we are excluded from the majority of funding opportunities which charitable organisations may access, therefore we are always pleased to receive donations of any size.

Donations

The National Association of Mortgage Victims is a not for profit organisation and exists to assist borrowers who are facing difficulties over their mortgage, secured loan or with shortfall demands.

All donations to the association are used to further this work and without them the association would not be able to function. We ask that a donation is made where specific work is carried out for any individual, but would not turn those away who are facing severe financial difficulty.

We will also gladly accept donations from other sources, and anyone wishing to make a donation can do so by sending either a cheque or postal order for any amount made payable to:

National Association of Mortgage Victims and posting to us at:

NAMV, PO BOX 1869, Cheadle, Stoke-on-Trent, ST10 4WA

We never advise that cash is sent through the post.
